Marcy-Newberry Association has served residents of the West Side for over 125 years. We are a National Mission Institute of The General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church.

Marcy-Newberry Association over the past 15 years has worked with the community on a number of major projects. We have offered leadership during the CHA Westside plan for transformation for all the developments on the Westside. We have also worked closely with University of Illinois in the development of their new South Campus Project.

In addition, we have given leadership to the development of the West Side Consortium Organization. All of these projects have come about as a result of Marcy-Newberry Association being an active part of the community. Our efforts have been directed toward making the Westside a better place for families to live and develop to the fullest potential.

Over the past few years we have joined with other local community groups to build NewberryPark, an 84 unit affordable housing development. This was the first new housing built in the community in the last 30 years. We are very proud of the fact that with the new housing taking place it was Marcy-Newberry Association that first began this new phase of community development.

During all of these efforts we have not lost sight of our mission to work with children in our community through our pre-school childcare and after school services. Our agency is open until 10:00 pm to give our young teens and young adults a safe haven as we attempt to respond to the total community.

While the agency has taken on these major tasks, we know that we are following in the footsteps of our founder as we attempt to be a part of making the west side a better community for everyone.
